Making Summer Cooler For Your Pet!

summer_dog_daysSummer time is the time for many of us to sit back, relax, and enjoy the nice warm weather and take some time off to spend with loved ones doing fun activities. Believe it or not, the feeling of summer is felt in pets. Pets can sense the feeling of joy, low stress, and excitement and often know when it’s summer. As a pet owner, it’s very important to take time out of your day to spend with your pets and remember that summer time should also be spent with them as well. Whether you have a cat or dog, there are many activities you can do with your pets during the summer to make it just as enjoyable for them as it is for you.

Swimming is one of the most common summer activities because sometimes it just gets way too hot to do anything other than take a dip in the refreshing water. However, dogs love to swim too! I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re a cat owner, but some cats do know how to swim and really enjoy it! Nevertheless, dogs love to spend quality time with their companions and have fun splashing around in the water. Not only is this fun to the dog, but the water can actually ease stiff joints and inflamed vertebrae too.

Nothing beats a nice swim than going out for ice cream. Now usually, getting ice cream cones seems like an activity for the you and the kids, but next time try taking the dog with you. Dogs love ice cream and they’ll love it even more if they enjoy it with you! One of my personal favorites is cutting up some bananas and putting it in a bowl of ice cream. Dogs love bananas, and the love ice cream too! Many people don’t know that dogs can eat pretty much any form of diary – including cheese. Yes, cheese is a great source of Vitamin D, protein, and fat. While overloading your dog with cheese can lead to gastrointestinal issues, a little cheese now and then can really be a great and enjoyed treat.

Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? If so, you can take your dog with you! It doesn’t have to just be the happiest place on Earth for people, but your pet can join in on the vacation do by going to the Best Friends Pet Resort. There are lots of nature, activities, and great food for you and your dog to enjoy!
